A note before you begin

Made for people who remember

This book was made for people who remember where they were on the morning of 29 July 1981, who kept the newspaper from that week, and who still think of Diana with a smile.

Every puzzle is printed in large, clear type, one to a page, with plenty of room to write. There are no tricks: words read left to right, top to bottom, or diagonally downward — never backwards. Each puzzle opens with a true fact from Diana's life or the royal world around her.

Take your time. Have a cup of tea. Enjoy.

What's inside

Eight chapters, one story

Each chapter has five word searches and two quizzes, and the whole book follows Diana's life in order — so you can start at the beginning or dip in anywhere.

Chapter 1

Diana's Early Years

Park House, Sandringham, where the Queen's children were her playmates — from the nursery to the morning her engagement was announced.

Chapter 2

The Wedding of the Century

29 July 1981: 750 million people, a twenty-five-foot train, the Glass Coach, and street parties in every town.

Chapter 3

A Royal Mother

William in 1982, Harry in 1984, and the ordinary childhood she gave them: cinema queues, theme parks and fast food.

Chapter 4

Diana's Causes

The handshakes that changed minds — HIV and AIDS, the homeless, sick children, and the minefield at Huambo.

Chapter 5

Diana's Style

From the puffed sleeves of 1981 to the sleek columns of 1997 — and the jeans-and-sweatshirt Diana that women loved most.

Chapter 6

The Royal Family

The Queen who reigned for seventy years, the palaces and castles, and the traditions that fill the royal year.

Chapter 7

Royal Weddings & Celebrations

The balcony kiss, the designer gowns, William's wedding in 2011 and Harry's in 2018 — and the sapphire ring that went to Catherine.

Chapter 8

Diana Remembered

The sea of flowers at Kensington Palace, the funeral watched by two and a half billion people, and how she is remembered today.

Our promise

No tricks. No tiny type.

Large print throughout

Grid letters are 18 point, the word lists are set large too, and there is one puzzle to a page with room to write.

Words never run backwards

Left to right, top to bottom, or diagonally downward — that's all. Puzzles should be a pleasure, not an eye test.

True facts only

Every fact and every quotation is from the public record: her speeches, her interviews, and the dates that everyone remembers.

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”Diana, Princess of Wales

Questions

Before you buy

How do I get the book after I pay?

As soon as your payment goes through, a big “Download” button appears on the confirmation page, and the same link is emailed to the address you gave at checkout so you can open it later on another device. Keep that email — the link is yours to use whenever you need it.

Can I print it at home?

Yes — that is what it is for. The pages are US Letter size, and they also print perfectly on A4. Print the puzzles you want, when you want them; you have our permission to print the book as many times as you like for your own use. Most people print a few pages at a time.

Can I solve it on a tablet instead?

Yes. The PDF opens in the free Books app on an iPad or in any PDF app on an Android tablet, and the large type suits a screen well. If your app lets you write on PDFs, you can tick the words off with your finger or a stylus.

I'm not very good with computers. Is this hard?

No. You pay, you tap one button, and the book opens. If anything goes wrong, reply to the email you receive and a real person will send you the book by hand.

Is there a printed copy?

A paperback edition is on its way. If you would rather wait for it, leave your email below and we will tell you the moment it is out.

What if I'm not happy with it?

Try the free sample first — it is a fair picture of the whole book. If you buy and it isn't what you hoped, reply to your receipt email within 14 days and we will refund you. No forms.

Is this an official royal publication?

No. This is an independent puzzle book. It is not affiliated with, authorised or endorsed by the Royal Household, the Spencer family or their representatives. All the facts in it are from the public record, and the quotations are from Diana's recorded speeches and interviews.
